Driver Hire Blackburn is recruiting for an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver to join a busy and well-established bakery production facility in Burnley. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable forklift truck driver looking for regular night work with a long weekend every week.
The Role
As an FLT Counterbalance Driver, you will be responsible for supporting bakery operations by transporting ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products around the facility. Duties will include:
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
- Moving ingredients from storage areas to production lines.
- Transporting finished baked goods to refrigerated and chilled storage areas.
- Loading and unloading stock as required.
- Ensuring products are stored correctly and in line with food safety procedures.
- Assisting warehouse and production teams when required.
- Completing daily equipment checks and reporting defects.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday
Approximate start time: 5:00pm
12‑hour shifts
Ongoing work available
Three‑day weekend every week
Requirements
- Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT or equivalent).
- Previous experience operating a forklift truck in a warehouse, manufacturing or production environment.
- Comfortable working within chilled and refrigerated storage areas.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Previous food production or bakery experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
