Driver Hire Blackburn is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Refuse Collection Driver to work with a leading waste management and business recycling company based in Blackburn. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking Class 2 Driver looking for ongoing work with the potential to secure a permanent position with a well-established employer.
The Role
As a Class 2 Refuse Collection Driver, you will be responsible for collecting commercial and business waste from customers across Blackburn and the surrounding areas. Working alongside a team of loaders, you will ensure collections are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures. Typical duties include:
- Driving a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle.
- Completing scheduled commercial waste and recycling collections.
- Working closely with loaders and collection crews.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
- Ensuring all collections are completed safely and on time.
- Operating within residential, industrial and commercial environments.
- Completing paperwork and electronic records as required.
- Adhering to all driver hours and road transport regulations.

Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred.
- Experience within waste management, refuse collection, recycling or multi-drop operations advantageous.
- Good awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Reliable, professional and customer-focused attitude.
