About the Role
Driver Hire Blackburn is recruiting an experienced Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver for ongoing flatbed work delivering steel products in and around the Accrington area. This role is ideal for a professional driver with experience in steel or similar loads, who is confident with strapping and load security and is looking for reliable weekday work with no nights out. You will be working with a well-established client and supported by a friendly, local Driver Hire team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a Class 1 (C+E) flatbed HGV
- Delivering lengths of steel, including some overhanging loads
- Safely strapping and securing loads in line with safety regulations
- Completing deliveries professionally and efficiently
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and paperwork
- Maintaining high safety and compliance standards at all times
Working Pattern
- Day shifts only Monday to Friday
- No nights out
- Regular, ongoing work
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Proven experience with steel, flatbed, or similar loads
- Confident with load strapping and securing
- Good geographical knowledge
- Safety-focused, reliable, and professional attitude
- Strong customer service skills
