Overview
Driver Hire Winchester is recruiting a Class 2 Driver for a leading general haulage company based in Southampton, UK. Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays on a rota basis.
- Start time: 7:15 am.
- Conduct long‑distance deliveries across the UK, delivering palletised freight to commercial customers.
- Unload pallets using a pump truck; some sites may require forklift unloading.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and all relevant paperwork accurately.
Qualifications
- Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card.
- Minimum 2 years’ Class 2 driving experience.
- Experience with strapping loads.
- Experience driving 18 tonne or 26 tonne curtain‑side tail‑lift vehicles.
- Good understanding of drivers’ hours and health & safety regulations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Professional, reliable, safety‑conscious attitude.
