HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Driver – Fixed Contract Dunbar
Overview
Driver Hire Edinburgh City is recruiting a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver on behalf of a client in Dunbar. This is a straightforward ongoing trunking role with the same route every night, ideal for drivers looking for regular work, consistent hours and a predictable routine.
Responsibilities
- Night trunk from Dunbar to Sunderland
- Collect an empty trailer from Dunbar
- Deliver to Sunderland
- Return to Dunbar with a loaded trailer
- Start at 8:00 pm, Monday–Friday
- No multi‑drop deliveries
Pay & Benefits
- £22.74 per hour PAYE (holiday pay accrued)
- £25.48 per hour PAYE Advanced (holiday pay included in hourly pay rate)
- Minimum 9 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
- Ongoing fixed contract
- Consistent start times and workload

Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence held for at least 1 year
- A minimum of 90 days of Class 1 driving experience within the last 12 months
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations
- Maximum of 6 penalty points, with no more than 3 points for any single offence
- No DD, DG, DR, IN, or CD endorsements due to insurance requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Reliable, professional and punctual
Additional Information
Start time: 8:00 pm, Monday–Friday
Base pay: £22.74 per hour (May increase to £25.48 per hour PAYE Advanced)
