Driver Hire Aberdeen are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Hydraulic Technician to join their Assets & Operations team in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will play a key role in the build, maintenance, testing, commissioning and operational readiness of hydraulic and mechanical systems across specialist offshore and onshore equipment. The role is primarily workshop-based and focused on hydraulic power units (HPUs), pipework, hose assemblies, valves, cylinders and associated hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and install hydraulic systems including HPUs, manifolds, pipework and hose assemblies
  • Carry out hydraulic maintenance, inspection and refurbishment work
  • Perform flushing, pressure testing, commissioning and FAT/SIT activities
  • Diagnose hydraulic faults including leaks, pressure loss and system inefficiencies
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings
  • Support mobilisation, demobilisation and equipment readiness activities
  • Complete testing records, checklists and workshop documentation accurately
  • Work safely and effectively within HSEQ standards at all times

Requirements

  • Modern Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Engineering
  • Hydraulic Training Level 2 (BFPA or equivalent)
  • Proven hydraulic systems experience including HPUs, pipework and hose assemblies
  • Ability to read hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings
  • Strong hands-on approach and fault-finding capability
  • Experience with flushing, pressure testing and commissioning preferred

Package

  • £42K - £47K per annum, DOE - OT paid @ x1.5
  • 38 hr wk - Mon-Thu: 7:30am - 4pm, Fri: 7:30am - 2pm
  • Aberdeen based
  • Temp to perm opportunity
