As a Driving Examiner you will be at the heart of this mission, as you will help us ensure people get their driving future off to a great start. We are looking for proactive, friendly and safe drivers who would like to train to become fully qualified Driving Examiners.
What you will do
We will provide all the training you need to get your career off to an incredible start. Our test centres are grouped into clusters, so you will be assigned to a cluster local to you. After a job offer, you will start training online, complete practical training at a local test centre, and may have up to three weeks of guidance at one of our regional training facilities. Your day will include overseeing seven driving examinations, using a tablet to record results, and communicating clearly to drivers to determine whether they meet the required standards. You will deliver both positive and negative feedback with tact and diplomacy.
What we look for
We value diversity and inclusivity and require exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills. You must be a calm, unflappable, safe driver who has held a UK or EU driving licence for at least three years. You must have no more than three penalty points on your licence, a good knowledge of the Highway Code and correct road procedures. You should be friendly, team-spirited and passionate about setting high standards that drivers will uphold for years to come.
