As a Driving Examiner you will be at the heart of this mission, helping ensure people get their driving future off to a great start. We are looking for proactive, friendly and safe drivers who would like to train to become fully qualified Driving Examiners.
What you will be doing
- Attend to seven driving examinations per day, engaging with customers from diverse backgrounds and helping them feel at ease while you explain instructions.
- Record results on a tablet and determine whether applicants meet the required standards, delivering both positive and negative outcomes with tact.
Training and progression
We provide all the training needed to start your career. Test centres are grouped into clusters, and you will select a cluster local to you. After an initial job offer, training begins online, followed by practical training at a local test centre. You will then have up to three weeks of guidance at a regional training facility before embarking on your career assessing driver readiness for licences.
Essential requirements
- Safe driver with a UK or EU driving licence for at least three years.
- No more than three penalty points on your licence.
- Good knowledge of the Highway Code and correct road procedures.
- Friendly, team-spirited, and respectful of diversity and inclusivity; strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills; calm under pressure.
