Recruitment Marketing Partner at Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom

Salary: £42,848 – A Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%

You will play a significant role in safeguarding DVSA’s reputation with the public by leading and managing the Public Liaison Team.

You will help ensure we always deliver an excellent level of service to our customers. You’ll have oversight of first and second stage complaints, claims for compensation, MOT appeals from garages who wish to join or remain within the MOT scheme, and requests for information made under the Data Protection Act (DPA).

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience working with complaints and data protection to use and consolidate their skills and experience in a high-profile and varied role. You will have the opportunity to represent the agency and share your expertise at various meetings, gain valuable insight into DVSA front-line operations, and lead on the implementation of process improvements.

Top Responsibilities

  • Leadership and management of the Public Liaison Team to ensure we always provide an excellent level of service to our customers
  • Responding to first and second stage correspondence and complaints, ensuring they are completed to a high standard within agreed timescales
  • Ensure timely resolution to claims made against the agency for compensation/out of pocket expenses
  • Review decisions made by case review team and MOT enforcement staff on MOT appeals to ensure DVSA can defend a robust position in court, if necessary
  • Ensure the Public Liaison Team responds to requests for information under the DPA within statutory obligations and in line with relevant legislation

About you

You are a highly-organised individual who has experience successfully managing people and resources in an operational environment. A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you can lead, mentor and motivate your team to provide an efficient service and will build positive relationships with colleagues and customers alike.

You have a good understanding of the statutory requirements for data protection and responding to requests for information and will be a source of accurate advice and guidance. You have excellent written communication skills and attention to detail and the ability to draft effective responses to customers and to proof-read responses to ensure accuracy.

If not already held there will be a development opportunity when in post to work towards ISEB qualifications in Data Protection and Freedom of Information. If not held, the successful applicant will be required to demonstrate a willingness to work towards these qualifications within 12 months of starting in the role.

Please note: This part time role will require the successful applicant to work three days per week, Wednesday to Friday.

The advertised salary will be pro rata as the vacancy is part time.
