Salary: £69,501 (Candidates based in Yeading or London will receive the London Weighting allowance of £4,000)

The role holder will shape and influence work on a range of high-profile issues, including driving tests, vehicle roadworthiness (e.g. through the MOT scheme), autonomous vehicles and other aspects of road safety and security which are rapidly evolving. They will be responsible for building and leading a community of badged analytical professionals and be supported by the sponsorship team in the Department of Transport and its wider analytical community. The role holder will provide influence amongst the leadership team by cutting across a breadth of topics, providing cutting-edge insights and building analytical capability in the organisation.
Top Responsibilities- Build the DVSA’s forecasting capabilities, ensuring that macroeconomic and broader social trends are fully understood and incorporated into the organisation’s planning and decision-making.
- Manage and plan a portfolio of work which ranges from Impact Assessments / De Minimis Assessments (DMAs) and Post Implementation Reviews; to advisory roles, or lighter-touch, creative analysis.
- Develop and promote a culture of continuous improvement and continuous professional development to ensure delivery of a quality service to our customers.
- Execute management responsibilities effectively, working with, leading and acting as a role model for team members and colleagues.
- Work in collaboration with fellow CSLs across all functions for the good of DVSA and to create a high performing and well-respected Agency.
- Lead a programme of analysis to support the DVSA’s strategy and policy and operational delivery programme, impacting on strategic direction, Ministerial decisions and influencing key stakeholders.
