Our Inclusion and Wellbeing team is dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to thrive. Working closely with colleagues across HR, business areas, staff networks, and external partners, the team leads on initiatives that promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and employee wellbeing across the organisation.

The team provides expert advice and best practice on themes such as disability, reasonable adjustments, wellbeing support and workplace inclusion, using insight and workforce data to drive continuous improvement and support strategic decision-making. Through collaboration, engagement, and innovation, the team helps shape an inclusive culture, delivers meaningful wellbeing initiatives, and ensures that inclusion is embedded in everyday business activities. This role supports the development and delivery of Inclusion and Wellbeing initiatives across the organisation, working with a wide range of stakeholders to promote an inclusive and positive workplace culture. The postholder will provide expert advice on equality legislation and policy, use workforce data to drive improvement, oversee engagement and communications activities, and lead collaborative initiatives that enhance wellbeing, inclusion, and organisational performance while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice.

Top Responsibilities

  • To build and maintain constructive relationships across HR teams, Business Partners, SSa, the business, DfT and with external stakeholders, ensuring that Inclusion & Wellbeing is considered in all aspects of work.
  • To engage with internal and external stakeholders, customers and support groups on Diversity and Inclusion policy, while building strong relationships across HR teams, Business Partners, SSa, the business, DfT and external stakeholders, ensuring Inclusion & Wellbeing are embedded in all areas of work.
  • To translate equality legislation into practice to ensure DVLA meet statutory requirements.
  • To use D&I workforce information according to the strategy set out by the CS, implementing actions to continuously improve the business. Producing communications in line with the communication strategy providing feedback on the effectiveness of that strategy.
  • To manage relationships with Staff Networks and Employability Skills Ambassadors to ensure a collaborative and strategic approach is taken to promote all aspects of wellbeing and inclusion.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, influencing and collaborating with colleagues, networks, partners, and external organisations to promote inclusion, wellbeing, and positive organisational outcomes.
  • Experience of leading or delivering projects, initiatives, or programmes of work, including researching options, making recommendations, coordinating resources, and securing stakeholder buy-in to achieve successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • CIPD level 5, or willingness to work towards once in post.
