Role Overview

As a highly experienced Health & Safety Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing the health, safety, environmental compliance, across two UK locations: Leamington Spa and Wellesbourne. Your expertise will be essential in

ensuring all relevant standards are met and maintained at both sites.

Approach and Responsibilities

This position requires a practical, hands-on approach. You will work closely with colleagues and senior management, aiming to embed best practices throughout the organisation. By actively promoting a positive health and safety culture, you will help drive continuous improvement and ensure everyone is engaged with compliance and safety matters.

Management Structure

The role is a stand-alone position, directly reporting to the Head of HR, with direct line management responsibility for two Facilities Team members. The successful candidate will be expected to be onsite full-time. Hybrid working is not available

due to the nature of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of Health & Safety across our two UK sites.
  • Design, develop and implement internal policy as required, ensuring awareness of all employees.
  • Conduct audits, reporting the findings and making recommendations to the Ops Board monthly.
  • Carry out accident/near miss investigations and reporting via the Ops Board monthly.
  • Develop and deliver Toolbox Talks regarding high-risk activities.
  • Identify hazards and ensure risk assessments are completed and reviewed.
  • Review and provide feedback to RAMS and risk assessments.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicating relevant aspects or changes to the business.
  • Design, develop and implement safe operational procedures, working within the existing H&S framework to improve, document and implement H&S arrangements.
  • Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.
  • Keep records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.
  • Work with our external consultants to develop our sustainability priorities and deliver to our plans.
  • Produce newsletters and bulletins, or other relevant communications.
  • Ensure equipment is installed safely.
  • Support and organise the safe receipt, storing, handling, use and disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. chemicals, communicating relevant procedures to the business.
  • Lead on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
  • Managing our 2 UK sites for maintenance, security, compliance and upgrades/alterations.
  • Line managing of the facilities team, including time management, setting objectives and conducting annual appraisals.

What you'll need

  • Extensive experience working in a similar role
  • NEBOSH qualification /or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant HSE and sustainability legislation
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, defining and managing own priorities
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Relevant engineering industry experience is desirable
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, excel, PowerPoint)
  • UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle to travel between sites
