Help Drive Growth in a Fast-Growth Business with a very bright future. DriveSimple provides flexible Van subscriptions to small businesses in the UK. Vans-as-a-Service if you will. We are in the early stages of our journey to set thousands of SMEs free from cumbersome and complex vehicle finance and our future looks very bright.
We are looking for someone to join our existing Operations team of three, initially as a 4-month Maternity Cover from August 26, but with a good chance for a full-time follow-on role. The role is full time remote and freelance where you will provide direct assistance to our customers, support the sales function with customer on-boarding and co-ordinate suppliers and repairers working on our vans.
Our mission is to take the hassle and pain out of vehicles for small companies. Instead of 4-year contracts with massive deposits, ridiculous credit checks and jargon heavy salesmen we provide vehicles on a monthly basis for a single inclusive payment.
We have a strong track record in the sector where our team started and scaled what is now Zipcar in the UK (and their Van Operations), has bought and operated more than £50m of vehicles and has more than 35 years experience successfully managing high growth ventures. That management experience has provided plenty of time to hone our approach to building teams where we hope to be not only responsible and progressive but also sympathetic to individual needs. We strive for small-empowered teams of excellent, fun and devastatingly effective people and we understand that those people don’t always fit into standard sized boxes. Most of all we embrace the philosophy that people should share the rewards in the companies they grow.
We have 150 vans on the road and plans to double to 300 this year. We are growing with ambition based on multiple experiences of this accelerated growth curve which tends to provide a wealth of excitement, experience and progression for those that can add early momentum through their own energy, enthusiasm and elbow grease.
Duties & Responsibilities
The hours will be full time UK hours and fully remote. The role will be varied and dynamic but also offers a serious operator the chance to work in a real meritocracy with strong progression and reward opportunities. This is an opportunity to get in on the second wave of a continuing hyper growth story and grow with us.
Desired Experience & Qualification
We are looking for someone who is hungry for big things with the talents, energy and commitment to back it up. Across our combined 35 years of starting and scaling businesses we have found several individuals who created a stand-out impact. They didn’t all have the exact same characteristics, but they largely had or were:
- Commercial
- Highly numerate
- Thoughtful
- Innovative
- Articulate
- Entrepreneurial
- Positive Attitude
- Willingness and hunger to learn
- Proactive
- Good Communicator
- Autonomous
- Sense of Humour
- Works well under direction and in teams
- High work rate
- Driven
- Effective
- Committed
- Ability to self-motivate
Degrees and relevant experience are clearly useful whereas attitude, drive and work ethic are essential. We aren’t focused so much on what you might know now but rather what momentum you could build as part of our growing team.
Package & Remuneration
We are based in London but the role is full time remote working 9.00 to 6.00 UK Times. Salary - £10 per hour or up to £1800 per month. Start Date – August 26 – Ideally earlier than later. Role Type – Full Time, Freelance, Remote.
