We’re looking for an experienced Practice Bookkeeper to join our growing and friendly team. We work with a wide range of local SMEs — trades, manufacturers, driving instructors, service businesses — and we pride ourselves on being accurate, responsive, and genuinely supportive to our clients.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing your own portfolio of bookkeeping clients
  • Daily/weekly/monthly bookkeeping in Xero (non-negotiable)
  • Bank reconciliations, journals, prepayments/accruals, CIS, VAT returns
  • Payroll experience beneficial (BrightPay)
  • Supporting team members where needed
  • Communicating with clients in a clear, friendly, and patient way
  • Ensuring all work is completed accurately and on time
  • Working within our established systems and helping to improve them as we grow

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

  • Minimum AAT Level 3 or ICB Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a bookkeeping or accountancy practice
  • Strong practical experience with Xero
  • Confident handling end-to-end bookkeeping
  • A good communicator who builds great relationships
  • Someone who is organised, dependable, and takes pride in getting things right

Beneficial:

  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
  • Knowledge of CIS
  • Experience with Dext, Apron, BrightPay, or similar tools
  • Cash flow and report preparation
