We are looking for an Operations Accountant to join our Operations Finance team, supporting production, spirit operations and export activity in a dynamic and growing environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build deep operational finance experience within a fast moving manufacturing and export focused business.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will assist in planning, analysis and delivering hands on commercial and financial support across operations and spirit functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Order Management
- Assist with arranging production of bulk spirit customer orders and ensure accurate recording in DRAMS.
- Process sales invoices in SAP and DRAMS.
- Maintain movement guarantee schedules and reconcile guarantee discharges.
- Liaise directly with HMRC on duty movements and ensure export entries are correctly recorded on the HMRC portal.
- Coordinate with distilleries and bottling halls to align production schedules with customer requirements.
- Update SAP with spirit delivery dates and shipment information.
- Advise on drum and IBC requirements.
- Record spirit vessel data accurately within DRAMS.
- Stock Control & Reconciliation
- Record stock movements including sales and transfers.
- Run transaction reports from DRAMS and reconcile to accounts.
- Process journals to ensure the nominal ledger reflects all movements.
- Assist with stock planning, reviews and distillery stock reconciliations.
- Support reconciliation of W1 reports.
- Assist with managing and recording costs for new fillings and mature stock.
- Reconcile third party stock certificates.
- Support month end stock checks.
- Export & Compliance
- Process bulk export orders ensuring all documentation and approvals are in place.
- Ensure invoices, certificates and shipping documentation are compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Manage labelling requirements for drums and IBCs.
- Finance & Administration
- Process purchasing invoices.
- Review and process transport, freight, commission and spirit purchase invoices.
- Ensure accurate financial tracking and cost reconciliation of spirit transfers and exports.
- Create purchase orders in SAP.
- Update COâ‚‚ emissions data in SAP for freight.
- Support with additional ad hoc finance tasks as required.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in finance, operations finance or production accounting.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Confidence working with ERP systems such as SAP.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills when liaising with operations teams and external stakeholders.
- An interest in compliance, export processes and stock control.
