Business Development Manager, London

Full-Time On-site

Great brands, real backing, and room to make your mark.

This is a business development role within a long-established, highly respected spirits business, home to some of the most exciting whisky and premium spirits brands in the country. You'll have the reputation, portfolio and support of an experienced commercial team behind you, with the freedom to run your accounts your way.

You'll look after a portfolio of On Trade and route-to-market accounts across London, with some national reach, representing a premium range of owned and distributed brands. Malt whisky and rum sit at the core, so whether it's Speyside versus Islay or Jamaican pot still versus Bajan blend, you'll already speak the language.

The focus here is value, not volume for its own sake: growing category share, building long-term partnerships, and shaping how a premium portfolio is seen and served across London's bars and restaurants.

The Role

  • Managing a varied account base of On Trade customers, RTM partners and specialist retailers, both directly and through third parties
  • Hosting consumer tastings and delivering staff training
  • Managing your own expenses, account investment and samples budget
  • Keeping the CRM accurate and useful
  • Working closely with your line manager and the wider commercial team

What great looks like

  • Delivering volume and gross income growth across your accounts, with a clear focus on priority brands
  • Planning your own activity, setting goals and regularly reviewing what's working
  • Keeping close to category trends so you can spot opportunities early
  • Building trusted, long-term customer relationships
  • Approaching challenges with commercial creativity
  • Representing the brands and the business credibly, earning trust as well as results

About you

  • Established knowledge of the London On Trade and its key customers
  • Strong product knowledge, especially across premium spirits
  • Confident negotiator with the ability to influence
  • Self-motivated and comfortable making decisions and owning the results
  • A natural team player who works well alongside the wider commercial team
  • Assured presenting and pitching, including tender submissions
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Curious and keen to keep learning about new products and ways of working

Is this you?

You're energetic, proactive and driven, and you want to be recognised for what you build. If you'd like the backing of an established business with the trust to shape your own patch, we'd love to hear from you.
