Role overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly successful and growing company as a Warehouse Operative working on our day shift. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and proactive running of the warehouse, from our goods in, picking orders and palletising goods ready for loading into company vehicles. This is a physical role that will involve a substantial amount of manual handling. A forklift license would be advantageous.
Salary is based on NMW with pay uplifts for having a forklift license
Key Responsibilities
· Checking in stock to ensure it matches against relevant paperwork.
· Picking and preparing orders from picking lists ready for loading.
· Assist in the loading and unloading of vehicles.
· Storing and rotating of stock accurately, ensuring that stock is stored hygienically.
· Report any damaged or missing goods to warehouse supervisor immediately.
· Ensure all the pallets leaving the warehouse are adequately secured to minimise the risk of breakages.
· Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
· Operate the forklift truck if required and have relevant license.
· Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and tidy and to report any hazards to your supervisor/manager immediately.
· Carry out stock checks when required.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
· At least two years previous warehouse experience.
· Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
· Proven organisational skills, including planning and problem solving.
· A conscientious, proactive and positive approach to duties.
· Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
· Able to work flexibly supporting the requirements of the business.
· Forklift truck license
