OCU Group is looking for an experienced Electrician / Wireman to join the team based in Glasgow, working on projects across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, dress, terminate, and segregate cables for AC and DC systems including control, protection, instrumentation, power, and communication circuits.
  • Wire control panels, protection panels, switchgear, inverters, auxiliary supply boards, and associated equipment to client and industry standards.
  • Label, route, and secure wiring in accordance with electrical drawings, standards, and best practice.
  • Support installation and integration of energy infrastructure such as transformers, switchgear, inverters, converters, protection and SCADA systems, UPS, PCS units, battery racks, metering devices, and auxiliary electrical systems.
  • Assist in mechanical mounting, gland installation, cable containment, and termination activities.
  • Perform continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, loop, and functional testing on LV and DC systems.
  • Assist commissioning engineers during energization, control checks, interlock tests, protection checks, and system sign-off.
  • Interpret test readings and report deviations or faults promptly.
  • Identify electrical faults using schematics, test equipment, and structured troubleshooting methods.
  • Carry out repairs and remedial work to restore system performance across control, auxiliary, and communication circuits.
  • Health willingness to travel and work on various sites.
