Applicant needs to have knowledge of heavy plant repairs, as well as knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding and burning would be advantageous.

NVQ level 2 in Engineering Maintenance and/or equivalent.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out breakdown maintenance on company plant and equipment.
  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on company plant as per manufacturers' instructions.
  • Assisting in carrying out repairs onsite as required by the company.
  • Keeping all maintenance records up to date and tidy as per the company's maintenance procedure.
  • Looking after all workshop tools and equipment, ensuring they are all in serviceable condition and secured at the end of the day.
  • Keeping the workshop area clean and tidy.
  • Identifying and sourcing items required for maintenance and repair of the company's plant and equipment.
  • Having basic knowledge of electrics on 12 & 24v DC systems including fault finding.
  • Basic knowledge of 3 phase electrical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication plus different welding techniques.
  • Working safely at all times.
  • Maintaining plant records.
  • Training junior fitters.

Salary depending on experience. Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00 - 17:30, Friday 8:00 - 16:00.
