The role will be responsible for system configuration, integrations, security, and managing system updates, ensuring that Workday Financials aligns with business requirements and operates efficiently. User management and first-line troubleshooting will be handled by the Service Desk; this role will focus on advanced system support, process optimisation, and strategic enhancements.

  • Manage system updates, releases, and patches, ensuring smooth adoption of new features.
  • Work closely with the Head of Test to ensure robust testing processes are in place, including functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and regression testing before any changes or updates are released.
  • Support reporting users by ensuring data accuracy, troubleshooting reporting issues, and providing guidance on report-building best practices.
  • Oversee data integrity and compliance, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex system issues beyond the scope of the Service Desk.
  • Provide training and best practice guidance to Finance and other stakeholders.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Must have strong configuration skills in Workday, including security, business processes, calculated fields, custom reports, account posting rules, and integrations.
  • Experience with finance operations and processes, such as general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, procurement, expenses, and financial reporting.

  • Understanding of compliance requirements, including financial regulations and audits.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to translate technical details into business language.
  • Problem-solving mindset, proactive in identifying and resolving system issues.
  • Stakeholder management, comfortable working closely with Finance, IT, Testing, and external partners.
  • Analytical thinking, capable of understanding financial data and optimising system outputs.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring system accuracy, compliance, and integrity.
  • Collaboration skills, ability to work effectively with the Head of Test to maintain a structured and reliable testing process.
  • Adaptability and learning agility, ability to stay up to date with Workday enhancements and evolving business needs.

Advantageous:

  • Workday certifications, especially in Workday Financials or Workday Integration.
