About the Role

As a Debt Purchase Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role within the Sales Department by evaluating and analysing debt portfolios to support acquisition decisions. You will review data, assess risk, and provide insight to help the business make informed purchases of debt portfolios that align with our financial and strategic goals. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with sales, finance, and legal teams.

The Department

The Sales Department is responsible for driving business growth through the acquisition and management of client relationships and debt portfolios. This team works closely with clients to identify opportunities, negotiate portfolio purchases, and deliver tailored debt recovery solutions. By combining market insight, analytical expertise, and strong client engagement, the Sales Department plays a critical role in expanding the company’s portfolio and ensuring sustainable revenue generation. Collaboration with Compliance, Finance, and Operations teams ensures all purchases meet regulatory standards and align with the company’s strategic goals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse debt portfolio data to evaluate the quality, value, and recoverability of accounts.
  • Conduct due diligence on prospective debt purchases, reviewing client documentation and historical performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to support debt acquisition decisions.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to understand market trends and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure purchased portfolios meet regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor purchased portfolio performance post-acquisition and report on outcomes versus projections.
  • Assist in developing pricing models and valuation criteria for debt portfolios.
