Our legal client is seeking a Collections Paralegal to join their Debt Recovery Team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the recovery of outstanding debts, dealing with inbound and outbound calls, responding to debtor queries, managing case files, and liaising with clients and external parties to ensure timely and efficient debt resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of debt recovery cases from initial instruction;
- Contact debtors by way of email, telephone and text message to collect outstanding payments;
- Monitor and manage deadlines and ensure robust, timely and accurate responses and reporting;
- Prepare case updates and reports for internal stakeholders or clients;
- Negotiate settlements or payment plans in line with client instructions;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the case management system;
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and guidance, including the Civil Procedure Rules, UK GDPR and, where relevant, FCA rules and guidance;
- Provide operational and administrative support to the Head of Debt Recovery and wider team as required.
Essential requirements:
- An understanding of debt recovery processes and Civil Procedure Rules.
- Excellent communication skills β written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
- Highly organised with attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Motivated to ensure the best recovery outcomes for clients, whilst maintaining high professional standards and compliance throughout
Desirable requirements:
- Experience working in a legal or financial services environment, ideally in a debt recovery or collection role.
- Familiarity with enforcement options, County Court and insolvency proceedings.
- Knowledge of Pre-Action Protocols and Civil Procedure Rules
