An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established company, specialising in the design and supply of customer standard process control systems to the food and beverage industry. The company is conveniently located in Peterborough, where the Electrical Design Engineer's role will be based.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design of MCC Panels (motor circuits, safety circuits, PLC equipment, layouts).
- Produce I/O configuration and I/O lists, material specifications and bills of material.
- Produce cable lists / sizing calculations / electrical test sheets / single line diagrams.
- Design cable routes, calculate containment size and update building layout drawings.
- Writing Risk Assessments and Method Statements / CDM regulations.
- Electrical testing / fault finding on site.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical/Vocational diploma or degree in electrical engineering or C&G Level 3, NVQ 3 & requirements for electrical installations (BS7671) or equivalent.
- Experience with Amtech, AutoCAD, Excel and EPLAN, or other drawing package.
- Knowledge of current electrical regulations / safety requirements.
- Knowledge of drives, PLCs, control gear (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens).
- Flexible, self-motivated, works well as part of a team.
- Valid driving licence and ready to travel in the UK and worldwide.
- Demonstrable experience of electrical design engineering.
