THE ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- FDS, PLC, HMI and SCADA software design and development.
- Provide technical input to review contract software requirements.
- Assist project managers to identify technical and time scale risks.
- Prepare and review the software product requirements, design and interface specifications.
- Prepare and review test requirements for specific software applications/units to standards as defined within the codes of practice.
- Ensuring that system and unit design specifications comply with the contractual safety standards.
- Identification of software related variation order opportunities.
- Comply with company policies and procedures concerning safety, environment and quality, and corresponding ISO record keeping requirements.
THE PERSON
The key skills and qualities of a PLC Programmer are:
- IT / Electrical qualifications advantageous.
- 3 years software development experience, ideally with experience of at least one of the following platforms: Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider and Allen Bradley.
- Ability to multi-task and consistently hit deadlines.
- A track record of being able to learn and ask questions.
- A commitment and drive for quality, technical excellence, and results.
- Positive, can-do attitude and a helpful demeanour.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- An ability to meet deadlines and expectations.
