We are seeking a Senior Event Technician (Vision Specialist) in London to work within the Production team, based onsite with our client who is one of the world’s leading technology companies. This role is responsible for working with a team of Senior Technicians, Technicians and assisting the Production Studios Team to deliver end-to-end event production including Broadcast, Video Production, technical coordination, presentation setup and support, AV/VC services, streaming, and event management. Proficient in Premiere Pro Editing.

The ideal candidate should have a high technical background with an advanced understanding of visual systems, specifically The ROSS Systems and Ross smart shell, ROSS PTZ, Sony, Panasonic and Canon Cinema cameras. The candidate requires experience of successfully planning and delivering events, strong problem solving skills, ability to stand in as a Technical Director when needed, exposure to installed audio-visual systems and the ability to mentor other team members.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible, along with other Technicians for the successful planning, staffing and delivery of event requests, held within the clients fully equipped event spaces.
  • Acts as the racks & video SME, providing expert operation of Sony camera systems within the clients fully equipped production control rooms, event spaces and production studios.
  • Acts as Senior Technical Director for live events when required.
  • Able to operate (or willingness to learn) other production technologies outside of vision specialism, i.e. ETC Lighting, Graphics ROSS Xpression, Barco event master and SSL audio consoles.
  • A Specialist in ROSS systems including carbonite, Ulitrix and the Acuity vision mixer.
  • Mentors and coaches a team of technicians in collaboration with the Technical Event Lead.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting AV equipment when and where necessary.
  • Responsible for regular maintenance of vision equipment.
  • Works closely with Internal technical teams to escalate and resolve equipment malfunctions, minimising impact on service delivery.
  • Develop and refine operational processes, producing clear and actionable Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) to standardise procedures and ensure consistent execution.
  • Excellent contingency planning for event support.
  • Communicates effectively to explain our services to technical and non-technical clients as needed.
  • Is involved in, or owns, special projects or assignments as outlined by the leadership team and executes them within the given timeline.
  • Leads on R&D efforts, identifying ways in which we can improve quality of output, efficiency through automation/tooling and process improvements.
  • Owns the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout pre-production planning, execution and post event.
  • Adheres to broadcast standards for remote and recorded attendees.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality service and professionalism to our client.
  • Effectively manages sensitive communication to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships with the internal team and external clients.
  • Collaborates with the wider Dreamtek community to facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Able to perform ad-hoc duties when needed, either acting as a multi skilled operator or supporting the Production studios team with studio set ups or camera operator duties if needed.
  • Well skilled in Premiere Pro to edit and deliver event productions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • SME in operating Ross Carbonite, Barco switching, Sony RCP 1500 and ETC Ion lighting desk.
  • Experience working in a broadcast environment, with specific exposure to operating in a gallery/master control room setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team.
  • Self starter that can demonstrate being open to learning.
  • Understanding and experience of various event formats, including Q&A, training events, town hall meetings etc.

Education & Experience

Minimum 8 years of professional technical live event production experience.
