In this technical role, you’ll work with a variety of video, audio, and streaming equipment, including production, DSLR, and mobile cameras. Your core specialism in camera and lighting will be crucial as you collaborate with clients and internal teams, demonstrating exceptional customer service and the ability to adapt to creative direction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Report to the Lead MSO.
- Act as a camera and lighting expert for diverse video projects, from small-scale productions to high-profile events involving executives, VIPs, and celebrities.
- Operate and maintain all video, audio, and streaming equipment, ensuring seamless execution of live or pre-recorded content both remotely and in-person.
- Collaborate with a wide range of creative production professionals, including those in graphics, sound, vision mixing, and editing.
- Safely rig and de-rig technical equipment, supporting multiple projects simultaneously at various production stages.
- Drive continuous development and technical innovation, upholding the highest production standards.
- Assist freelance specialists in producing live and pre-recorded studio content, and conduct workshops.
- Address technical issues promptly with the Technical Supervisor and Broadcast Engineer to minimise impact on output.
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies, promoting a positive safety culture in all studio areas.
- Skillfully manipulate lighting to transform environments, using flags, arms, and grip tools in both studio and on-location settings.
- Transport and set up video, lighting, and audio equipment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and production team members.
- Manage inventory and report as required by the Technical Production Supervisor.
- Contribute to set design based on the project briefs.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and self-motivation, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines individually and as part of a team.
- Provide project and equipment reporting data as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines, on a fast-paced production schedule.
- Strong technical skill-set with proven examples of previous project work to share.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional nights and weekends if needed.
- Core level of Adobe Creative Suite’s video production and design applications, allowing the ability to execute data ingest and transfer.
- Proficient at using Microsoft Office/ G Suite applications and the ability to quickly learn and use other software programs.
- Experience working in a studio environment.
- Demonstrable ability to work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines and pressure in a client-focused environment.
- An aptitude for technical understanding and problem solving with good IT skills.
- A growth mindset and be adaptable to change.
- An excellent communicator with good written and spoken English who can remain calm under pressure.
- A passion for creating innovative and engaging content; a mobile-first mindset is a plus.
- An ability to travel when required.
Education & Experience
- A keen eye and passion for visual storytelling.
- 4+ years experience in a similar role.
- Experience as a content creator with a personal account or following would be beneficial (not essential).
