Overview

You will form part of the Maintenance team, working primarily on supporting Bed Production Operatives by maintaining, repairing and servicing static plant machinery, conveyors, hydraulic presses, and industrial sewing machinery. As part of a small maintenance team, you will be involved with various other jobs around the site; no day will be the same, and you will be able to use your skills and experience to improve the factory environment.

Your standard working week is 40 hours (excluding breaks), Monday to Friday. Some flexibility with shift patterns may be required during holidays and busier production periods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all industrial sewing machines and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
  • Install new machines and calibrate them to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all routine maintenance and repair activities.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including PLC knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to understand new systems and electronics.
  • Welding, soldering and fabrication experience would be advantageous but not essential.
