Dreamland, the beating heart of Margate! A one stop shop of festival fun, live entertainment, culture, food and vintage inspired amusement park rides. We are looking for an Estates and Maintenance Assistant who will ensure facilities across the Dreamland estate are maintained to a high standard, carrying out preventative maintenance and responding effectively to requests for works.
About the Role
As the Estates and Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that facilities across the estate are maintained to a high standard, carrying out preventative maintenance wherever possible, and responding to breakdowns. The individual is expected to work closely with the Senior Estates and Maintenance Coordinator and the Estates and Maintenance Operative, ensuring that all maintenance across the site follows legal and venue health and safety regulations. The nature of the business demands flexibility in working hours to suit event and park opening times, as well as the preparation involved.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Presentation of all facilities in advance of customer arrival and throughout all park and events.
- Carry out maintenance on the estate to ensure that the grounds and estate are maintained to the highest possible standards.
- Carrying out required repairs and maintenance across the estate.
- Maintain records of work completed and maintain records relating to planned and responsive maintenance.
- Recording all works on the companies PPM System and Mobaro.
- Use site plant and machinery that you are trained on, ensuring the highest safety standard is met at all times.
- Following legal and venue health and safety regulations, ensuring that the highest standards of safety are achieved on site.
- Adhere to the daily/weekly/fortnightly and monthly inspections regime in a timely, safe manner, ensuring all general maintenance has been programmed along with the planned maintenance of the park.
- Report on all defects etc. to your manager and carry out necessary adjustments and repairs as deemed necessary in a timely manner.
- Carry out preventative maintenance, highlighting any causes for concern/future maintenance issues, which could lead to potential problems and downtime on any relevant equipment.
- Maintain and keep the workshop’s various areas, machinery and plant tidy.
- Work in a timely manner.
- General maintenance works as required.
- Alongside the Estates and Maintenance team, react to radio calls to ensure that the estate is guest ready and providing a safe environment.
- Work within the Estates team on a rota basis to cover all opening hours including evenings and weekends.
Health and Safety:
- Working knowledge of relevant health and safety guidelines and requirements for estates and maintenance.
- Assist the Senior Estates and Maintenance Coordinator with the induction process for any new contractors onsite ensuring this is completed before any works start.
- Carry out and document regular planned maintenance and venue checks to identify any maintenance issues across the venue including all front of house and back of house areas.
- Be an ambassador for Dreamland and for our site, taking personal responsibility for finding out about our product and services, and always striving to represent the Company in the most professional, courteous and efficient manner possible.
The above list is not exhaustive and owing to the Dreamland Estate’s varied operational needs individuals may be required to carry out additional duties. To ensure maximum efficiencies within the park, flexibility is essential. Individuals will be required to assist in other areas if required.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential
- Experience of working in an Estates, Facilities Maintenance or Construction role.
- Experienced in working at height and/or confined spaces.
- General Facilities Maintenance Experience e.g. with carpentry, decorating, plumbing, electrics etc.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and motivate others.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays with short notice.
- Prepared to work cohesively as part of a team.
- Prepared to work to a shift pattern.
- Good communicator.
- Organised, methodical and tidy being able to work to deadlines and targets.
Desirable
- Experience of working in a similar environment i.e. music venue, visitor attraction etc.
- Previous Experience in the use of a computer-based Maintenance Management System e.g. Mobaro Park.
- MEWP Operator Licence.
- Telehandler Operator Licence.
- Demonstrable formal Health and Safety training.
- First Aid Training.
- Fire Marshal.
- An electrical qualification is desirable for this role but not a requirement, although there may be training opportunities through the business to achieve this.
