Locum 111 Clinical Advisors needed in Newcastle upon Tyne. Dream Medical is a dedicated Primary Care Recruitment Agency working in partnership with private, NHS and third sector clients. We are proud to work alongside a number of NHS 111 providers to aid the fast‑paced development of the 111 service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess the health and clinical needs of patients/patient representatives contacting the service, and using critical thinking and clinical judgment, supported by clinical decision making software, agree with the patient a course of action to meet their needs.
  • The selection, critical analysis and use of available clinical and health resources to inform clinical decision making and identify potential options for the patients.
  • Referral on to a range of other services including 999 ambulances, urgent referral to hospital, GPs, nursing services.
  • Identify and take appropriate actions to address risks of the patient, including identification of emergency care needs requiring dispatch of a 999 ambulance and child protection and vulnerable adult issues requiring referral on to other agencies in line with local policies.

There are a range of hours available, including both part‑time and full‑time. Our client is particularly interested in candidates who are available in the evenings, nights and weekends. The call centre is operational 24/7.

Upon successful application, candidates will be required to complete a one‑day induction course before formally commencing work on site. In return, Dream Medical offers competitive hourly rates of pay, via Limited Company, Umbrella Services or PAYE on a weekly basis. All work undertaken will fall outside of IR35 legislation. Candidates will also have the opportunity for career progression within the 111 service and are offered indemnity insurance.

To be considered for this role candidates must comply/produce the following:

  • Fully trained on Pathways – V14.
  • Have taken a 111 call within the last 6 months.
  • Recent call audits.
