Prison Nurse Sutton Yorkshire Locum – Full Time Part Time
Dream Medical are working with a Prison in Yorkshire and are looking for an experienced Prison Nurse to work part or full time hours within the healthcare department. You must have Prison Nursing experience, CTC Clearance and Prison clearance in place for this position.
This role involves:
- Health promotion & education
- Providing clinical assessments
- Triage and treatment of detainees/patients
- Health screening
- Administration of medications and treatment of minor illness
- Chronic disease management (Diabetes, hypertension, COPD, asthma, ischaemic heart disease, cardiovascular disease)
- Ear irrigation / ear syringing
- Hepatitis B vaccination
- Assessment of detainees to identify self-harm/suicidal risk with appropriate interventions
- Wound care management and compression bandaging
- Management of substances and alcohol abuse – symptomatic reliefs, administration of methadone and subutex
- Phlebotomy
- Venepuncture
- Providing counseling, social and psychological support
Requirements
- Be registered with NMC with a valid pin
- Have Prison Clearance
- Have Prison Nursing Experience
- Have an Enhanced DBS issued within 1 year
