Dream Medical are recruiting on behalf of a surgery in Banbury who are looking for a Salaried GP or long term locum on a part time or full time basis. The surgery has recently moved to GP telephone consultations, in that there are no forward booked appointments for GPs. A forward thinking, innovative environment to work in and are working towards achieving an excellent QOF.

Clinical Responsibilities:
The post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. In accordance with the Practice consulting schedule, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, reviewing patient related correspondence, DOCman patient medical reports and examinations other paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion on behalf of the Practice.
Making professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred, admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload from other health care workers. Recording clear and contemporaneous IT based consultation notes to agreed standards. Checking hospital and other correspondences and completing any appropriate action. Checking the results of blood tests, x-rays, etc received electronically and completing any appropriate action. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible). Collecting data for audit purposes. Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines. Making referrals to other health care providers in line with national and local guidelines and pathways. Working collaboratively with other clinicians in the practice e.g GPs, NP, Practice nurses and health care assistants.
