Dream Medical is currently working with a private client who is looking for an Anaesthetic & Recovery Practitioner to expand their team. This role provides excellent training opportunities including Surgical First Assist. You may be eligible to receive a joining bonus of up to £2000 for this role.

Situated off the A537 just outside Macclesfield town centre, this is a first choice hospital for patients in Cheshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Greater Manchester. The hospital has a breast cancer support group and is accredited by BUPA as a centre of excellence for breast, colon and bowel cancers, and a BUPA approved diagnostic service for gynaecological cancers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • The successful Operating Department Practitioner or Nurse will prepare the operating theatre/anaesthetic room for surgery, ensuring instrumentation, equipment and supplies are ready for specific procedures and waste is kept to a minimum.
  • You will run a theatre list without supervision and supervise/mentor junior staff (subject to experience) and perform anaesthetic duties.
  • You will have the opportunity to develop your skills as the unit performs various surgical procedures ranging from General Surgery, Orthopaedic, ENT, Plastics and Ophthalmic.

Who we’re looking for

  • HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner or NMC registered Nurse with an Anaesthetic module.
  • Ideally ALS or ILS; however training and courses can be offered.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills are key to maintaining high standards of patient care.
