Dream Medical is currently working with an NHS Foundation Partnership in recruiting a locum Occupational Therapist on a fixed long-term contract based in a hospital in Macclesfield. You will be part of the CAHMS Team providing services to young adults aged 0 - 19 with learning disabilities.
The hours of work are Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00, starting ASAP on a fixed 2-month contract with potential for extension onto a rolling contract.
Duties:- Develop rehabilitation programmes to help rebuild lost skills and restore confidence;
- Advise on home and workplace environmental alterations, such as wheelchair access adjustments;
- Teach anxiety management techniques;
- Help people return to work;
- Advise on specialist equipment to assist with daily activities;
- Coach individuals with learning difficulties or poor social skills, e.g., handling money and social interactions;
- Mentor individuals on behaviour control;
- Liaise with other professionals, including doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, equipment suppliers, architects, as well as patients' families, carers, and employers;
- Write reports and attend multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review treatment;
- Organise support and rehabilitation groups for carers and clients;
- Train students and supervise occupational therapy assistants;
- Manage caseloads, prioritising needs, and complete administrative tasks such as patient and budget records.
You will have:
- DBS/CRB check within 1 year;
- Relevant experience within the field;
- 2 relevant references;
- Right to work in the UK.
