Working with a busy GP surgery in Oxford, Dream Medical urgently require a full time Locum Practice Nurse to start ASAP.
Duties will include:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as required.
- Chronic disease reviews including COPD and Diabetes.
- Asthma reviews.
- Cytology screening.
- Childhood and adult vaccinations.
- Administering vaccines under patient group directions.
- Wound care including compression bandaging.
- Removal of sutures.
- Contraception advice.
- Doppler studies and interpretation.
- Prescribed injections – including Zoladex implants.
- Urinalysis.
- ECGs.
- Venepuncture.
- Requesting basic pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs.
- Assisting GPs and contraceptive nurse with minor surgery and coil fittings.
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician.
- NHS health promotion programmes: holistic assessment and lifestyle advice on diet, smoking, alcohol intake and exercise. Facilitating behaviour change.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current experience working as a Practice Nurse along with current NMC registration is essential.
