Band 7 MOD Nurse Practitioner – Tidworth (Full time locum)
Dream Medical are working with the Ministry of Defence and require a Band 7 Nurse Practitioner for a full time locum placement. You will be based in the Medical Centre of the Military base where you will assess, diagnose and treat minor illnesses and ailments. You must be an independent prescriber to be considered for this role.
The role is to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the Defence Primary Healthcare organisation, delivering Primary Health Care services and elements of Occupational Health to entitled Defence Medical Services personnel. You will identify the needs of and develop programmes of care/service delivery to meet the demands of the Population at Risk.
You will undertake autonomous consultations in the provision of nurse led clinics, including communication with outside agencies and disciplines. You will be responsible for the line management and clinical supervision of the other nurses within the practice and ensure untrained personnel within the treatment area work within their scope of practice.
Your role will be to participate in chronic disease management and cervical cytology call/recall/consultations as well as to participate in Healthcare Governance (HCG) and Health Promotion (HP) activities.
You will utilise Information Systems to interrogate/support clinical audit/service evaluations and possess knowledge of treatments, medication and clinical management of common PHC first contact and chronic conditions/presentations. You will act as a coach/mentor/teacher to others in both clinical and managerial situations and participate in personal Clinical Supervision and learning activities.
