Practice Nurse

Dream Medical are working with a GP Surgery in Northumberland and are looking for a Practice nurse to join their team on a 15 hour per week basis. This is a busy, friendly 2 GP practice with over 3400 patients and you will be supported by an efficient administration team and a very experienced healthcare assistant.
The successful candidate will be delivering general practice nursing services to the practice population. You must have general practice experience and be able to perform the basic duties associated with this post, including:
- Cervical smear testing
- Adult and child vaccinations (including travel vaccinations)
- General patient injections (both IM and sub-cut)
- Phlebotomy
- Knowledge of and management of patients with long term conditions
- Pill checks
- Dietary advice
- Smoking advice
You should also be familiar with safeguarding requirements up to at least level 2.
Ideally this post will be up to 15 hours per week and would include either an early morning or late evening surgery in order to ensure accessibility for working patients. Working hours and clinical sessions are negotiable and will be discussed at interview stage. We do not open weekends or bank holidays.
This is a band 6 role and salary will be commensurate with experience; NHS Pension is offered.
You should be enthusiastic and ensure that all patients receive a positive experience when attending the practice; you will be required to work collaboratively with the practice team to meet the needs of our patients whilst delivering practice policies and procedures. A Disclosure and Barring Service Check will be carried out prior to employment. All applicants must have a current UK professional registration.
