Purpose of the Role

As Driver & Operations Assistant, you will have responsibility for receiving, inspecting and delivering goods to customers’ homes. You will support the installation teams handling materials and providing hands‑on assistance where required, and carry out other general duties to support the showroom operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check in goods against purchase orders and inspect materials for damage, reporting any issues to enable re‑order in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure each individual item and ancillary product is picked in accordance with the individual customer’s survey list & fitters pack.
  • Load and unload the van of materials for order/into the customer’s home on the day of the installation.
  • Collect and dispose of waste from completed installations.
  • Put out A‑board signs and assist with leafleting in and around the vicinity of the customer’s premises.
  • Collect materials and sundries from wholesalers as required.
  • Assist fitter with fits (e.g., lifting worktops, preparing doors with hinges and handles).
  • Liaise with customers in their homes, supporting the installation process and ensuring a seamless and positive customer journey.
  • Clean customer kitchens post‑fit (dust, waste removal, etc.).
  • Carry out general duties around the showroom as required (e.g., stock take, ensuring stock room and showroom are tidy).
  • Work as part of a small team, helping in all departments as the business dictates.
  • Perform manual handling in line with manual handling guidelines.

Experience

Previous similar experience advantageous. DIY understanding (using basic tools such as screwdriver, drills, etc.).

Skills / Knowledge

  • IT literate (Microsoft Office/CRM)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (clean)
  • Driving experience (ideally utilising a long wheelbase van)
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service knowledge
  • Ability to work independently, identify challenges and be solution focused.
