UK / Hybrid

A high-growth international fintech is seeking an experienced Head of People to lead the next stage of development for its people function as the business continues to scale globally. The company has grown rapidly over the past few years and now operates across multiple international markets. With strong foundations already in place, the business is now looking for a senior people leader who can help professionalise, scale and evolve the function while preserving a collaborative and trust-based culture.

This role will work closely with the executive leadership team and will play a critical role in shaping the organisation as it moves through its next phase of growth.

The Opportunity

This is not a greenfield HR build. The foundations of the function are already established. The focus of the role is to scale and mature the people organisation, ensuring that the business has the structures, leadership capability and cultural alignment required for continued international growth. The successful candidate will inherit an established team covering areas such as talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, and HR operations, and will be responsible for supporting and developing that team while aligning people strategy with the wider business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy and Leadership

  • Partner with the executive leadership team to shape and deliver the organisation’s people strategy
  • Support the business through its next phase of international growth and organisational development
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organisational design, leadership capability and culture

Scaling the People Function

  • Evolve and professionalise existing people processes, systems and governance
  • Ensure the people function can support a growing, international workforce
  • Introduce scalable structures while maintaining a pragmatic and flexible culture

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and develop the existing people team across HR operations, talent and compensation
  • Strengthen leadership capability across the organisation
  • Build strong internal partnerships across all areas of the business

Culture and Employee Experience

  • Protect and strengthen the organisation’s collaborative, trust-based culture
  • Support a leadership environment built around autonomy, accountability and performance
  • Continue to evolve the employee experience as the company grows

Organisational Growth

  • Support senior hiring and leadership development
  • Help shape organisational design as the company expands internationally
  • Ensure the business continues to attract and retain high-quality talent

The Candidate

We are interested in speaking with senior HR leaders who combine strong operational capability with the ability to support scale-up growth environments. The successful candidate will likely bring experience from both structured organisations and high-growth companies, and will be comfortable balancing governance and structure with agility and pace. You will likely bring:

  • Experience leading a people function within a technology, fintech or SaaS organisation
  • A track record of supporting high-growth, scaling businesses
  • Experience managing international teams and supporting global organisations
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • A pragmatic and commercially minded approach to HR
  • The ability to build credibility with senior leadership teams

Candidates who have moved from larger, structured organisations into scale-up environments may find this opportunity particularly compelling.

The Environment

The business operates a high-trust, collaborative culture where leaders are encouraged to take ownership and operate with autonomy. The company is continuing to expand internationally and offers the opportunity to shape the next stage of development in a growing global fintech.

Location

UK based, with a flexible hybrid working environment.

Compensation

Competitive salary, bonus and benefits aligned with a senior leadership role within a scaling technology business.
