We are exclusively partnered with our client, a high-growth, venture-backed scale-up at the forefront of the digital payments revolution. Backed by a top-tier investor syndicate and following a successful Series B, the company is poised for significant commercial expansion across the UK, Europe, and select international markets.
To support this next phase of growth, the business is seeking a strategic and commercially hands-on Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to join the executive leadership team. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the company’s entire revenue function and define the commercial engine of one of the UK’s most exciting PayTech players.
The Role
As Chief Revenue Officer, you will lead the business’s end-to-end revenue strategy, owning sales, partnerships, account management, and customer success across all core markets. You’ll be responsible for shaping the commercial structure, scaling high-performing teams, and building a predictable and sustainable revenue model that supports ambitious growth targets. Working closely with the CEO and board, you will translate the company’s strategic objectives into measurable commercial outcomes, while acting as a key voice on the executive team and across external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the global revenue strategy across direct sales, channel partnerships, enterprise growth, and customer success.
- Build, lead and scale high-performing commercial teams across sales, partnerships, and account management in the UK and international markets.
- Own the commercial P&L and forecasting, delivering predictable revenue performance and reporting to the board.
- Drive pipeline development, deal velocity and conversion through insight-led sales operations and tools.
- Establish and optimise revenue processes across the full client lifecycle, from lead generation to retention and upsell.
- Build strategic partnerships across the payments and fintech ecosystem to unlock new distribution and integration channels.
- Collaborate closely with product, marketing, operations and finance to ensure alignment across commercial priorities and customer delivery.
- Contribute to overall business strategy, helping shape go-to-market models, pricing, and international expansion.
Ideal Profile
- Proven experience as a CRO or senior commercial leader within a high-growth payments, fintech, or SaaS business.
- Deep understanding of B2B payments, FX, or embedded financial services across SMEs, mid-market or enterprise segments.
- Track record of scaling revenue functions from Series A/B through to global expansion.
- Data-led with a deep understanding of commercial KPIs, forecasting, pipeline health, and customer lifetime value.
- Experienced in building and managing high-performance revenue teams, including direct sales and partnerships.
- Strong leadership presence with experience reporting at board level and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and comfortable operating in VC-backed, fast-paced environments.
- Prior experience managing international commercial teams or launching into new markets is highly advantageous.
