- Ensure the team provides effective, consistent advice, guidance, training and assurance on existing and forthcoming obligations within the GB energy market regulatory landscape.
- Develop and continually improve internal market policy framework (wholesale and retail), in line with latest guidance and regulatory/policy changes, working closely with the Regulation and Policy teams.
- Lead compliance risk evaluation activities and develop appropriate mitigation strategies, keeping senior leaders informed (across multiple disciplines) and taking a lead in proactive/collaborative risk mitigation.
- Lead internal investigations and associated regulatory interactions (traded market, customer fraud, consumer impact, etc.) across wholesale and retail.
- Represent Drax and build relationships at external events, including trade body committees and forums.
Who we’re looking for: To be successful in this role you’ll ideally have:
- Excellent working knowledge of compliance programme development and improvement within Energy, Power, Utility or related sectors.

- Proven experience of representing multi-discipline teams at senior leadership meetings and committees.
- Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities whilst driving strategic change.
- Ability to communicate across a wide range of stakeholders across a corporate organisation.
Rewards and benefits: As you help us to shape the future, we’ve shaped our rewards and benefits to help you thrive and support your lifestyle. If successful in this role, you’ll get:
- PSP bonus plan
- A discretionary bonus depending on company performance
- Private Healthcare
- SAYE (Sharesave): discretionary scheme from time to time
- Personal accident cover
- Group personal pension plan where we’ll contribute up to 10%
- Holiday - 25 days plus bank holidays
- Reimbursement of the cost of your annual membership of one relevant and appropriate professional body
