Overview
In this role, you will support timely financial transactions and reporting within a fast-paced finance function. You will help maintain robust controls and ensure the management accounting process runs smoothly. You’ll work with Finance stakeholders across the business to provide reliable financial information and governance. The position offers flexibility (FTC to 31 March 2028, hybrid, multiple locations) and a chance to contribute to the company’s zero‑carbon ambitions. This is an impact role for someone who drives accuracy and insight in monthly accounting cycles.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journals accurately and on time in line with policies and controls
- Manage accruals and prepayments as part of the monthly accounts process
- Review and sign off Business Approval Forms to support governance requirements
- Ensure costs are correctly coded to the appropriate cost centres and projects
- Support the production of management accounts through reconciliations, variance analysis and commentary
Key requirements
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with journals, accruals, prepayments and cost coding
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems
- Desirable: experience with Planful
