Permanent/Full time position in renewable power, aiming to create stable energy in an uncertain world. The role involves operating and optimising Cruachan generating units and hydro schemes in line with dispatch, plant limits, and REMIT requirements.

  • Monitor plant performance, respond to alarms/trips, and support emergency situations affecting the station and transmission system.
  • Maintain real-time communication with the Energy Management Centre and update system availability.
  • Deliver accurate operational, maintenance, and performance records, completing planned maintenance and work orders on time.
  • Conduct inspections, report defects, uphold safety rules, and support maintenance teams while maintaining high housekeeping standards.

Requirements:

  • A HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering, backed by hands-on experience in power generation or a comparable industrial environment.
  • The ability to demonstrate expertise in operating and maintaining large-scale plant, with a strong awareness of performance, limits, and safe working practices.
  • Confidence using maintenance management systems (CMMS) to support efficient plant operations.
