About the role

As Security Engineer, you will be responsible for delivery of the Security Engineering strategy across our Hydro sites. The role will ensure Security Engineering compliance, including NIS compliance and governance.

You will work to deliver innovative and strategic maintenance initiatives and plans that optimise risk, performance and capital expenditure tailored to meet Security requirements, related to Cyber, physical and market economics. This role covers all plants within our Hydro business which includes 8 conventional hydro stations (126MW) and a pump storage station (440MW). The stations are located from Tongland at the Solway Firth to Cruachan that is situated on the banks of Loch Awe approximately 180 miles apart.

On average you will be expected to attend one of the sites per week with some office attendance at the Glasgow office for team collaboration. This role also allows for some homeworking. A valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Who we’re looking for

Ideally, you will hold a degree level qualification in a relevant subject, and a background working in cyber security, network security or control & instrumentation engineering. You will need a good understanding of network security technologies and processes including an understanding of current and emerging security threats and an awareness of systems and methods to counter them. Additionally, you will have knowledge of TCP/IP including routing protocols, management protocols, TLS Modbus over TCP/IP, Industrial Ethernet technologies. Specific experience and knowledge of NIS regulations is highly beneficial together with knowledge of IEC62443.
