About the role
As the Portfolio Management Lead at Drax you’ll manage portfolio planning, governance, and performance oversight across an assigned portfolio, ensuring delivery alignment to strategic priorities, effective resource management, and consistent reporting to drive value realisation and delivery assurance. You’ll oversee the performance of your assigned portfolio, ensuring programmes and projects deliver against the agreed scope, schedule, and benefits targets. You’ll manage resource and organisational capacity for change across the group for your respective portfolio areas. You’ll drive accountability across project sponsors, ensuring ownership of delivery outcomes and benefit realisation through structured governance and transparent reporting. You’ll prioritise the portfolio and make recommendations to the senior portfolio leads on priorities in line with business strategy and value and introduce early warning signals of portfolio performance through development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and proactive governance reviews.
Who we’re looking for
To be successful in this role you’ll need to have a continuous improvement mindset, excellent planning and prioritisation skills and be comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities, bringing resilience and pragmatism when working through uncertainty and change. You’ll have an analytical mindset, be a keen problem solver and have exceptional stakeholder management skills. You’ll need to have the ability to translate portfolio performance, risks, and strategic insights into clear, concise reports for senior governance forums and make the complicated stuff easier for them to understand. A business or project management qualification along with a portfolio management accreditation is highly desirable for this role. Experience of working with Agile or Product Management teams and development methodologies would be desirable.
