You’ll be joining our teams of practical doers, future thinkers and business champions. We’re enabling a zero carbon, lower cost energy future for all, and working hard to decarbonise the planet for generations to come. Within the Community and Education team, you’ll play a hands-on role in bringing that mission to life at a local level. It’s a varied and people-focused role where no two days are the same. About the role:
- Design and deliver engaging educational outreach programmes, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum and high-quality learning outcomes.

- Plan and deliver tours, outreach sessions, and community events (including at Skylark Nature Reserve), ensuring excellent visitor experiences and positive community engagement.
- Identify and support the development of new community and education opportunities, responding to local needs and contributing to delivery of the Community Strategy and local community plans.
- Act as a professional public representative of Drax, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders and contributing to community forums and events.
- Ensure all activities meet health, safety, and operational standards, including visitor briefings and correct use of PPE, and appropriate conduct when working with young or vulnerable groups.
- Collaborate with the wider team to plan programmes, share updates, and continuously improve delivery in line with organisational strategy and curriculum developments.
- Capture and report visitor data, feedback, and insights to support continuous improvement and accurate performance tracking and inform future activity.
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in a public-facing or educational role, with delivery of outreach programmes.
- Strong communicator and presenter, confident engaging diverse audiences including young people, community groups and professional stakeholders.
- Good working knowledge of health and safety practices, with an understanding of safeguarding considerations when working with young people.
- Passion for the energy sector, with awareness of environmental issues.
- Creative and proactive, able to develop engaging content and new ideas.
- Collaborative and adaptable team player.
- Professional, approachable, and reliable, committed to high standards and stakeholder experience.
Rewards and benefits:
- A discretionary bonus depending on company performance.
- Private Healthcare.
- SAYE (Sharesave): discretionary scheme from time to time.
- Personal accident cover.
- Group personal pension plan where we’ll pay up to 10%.
