About the role
As Commissioning Engineer you’ll be responsible for the preparation, planning, coordination and execution of the commissioning on the Cruachan Power Station Unit 3 and 4 Upgrade Project. This will include commissioning the generator, turbine, governor and associated auxiliary systems. Unit 3 will be refurbished in 2026 and Unit 4 in 2027.
- Planning and preparation for the unit commissioning following refurbishment
- Working with Drax colleagues and the contractors, develop and review commissioning procedures and associated documentation
- Working with Drax colleagues and the contractors, develop and plan the commissioning sequence ensuring that all commissioning equipment is available
- Working with Drax colleagues and the contractor, co-ordinate the execution of commissioning activity
- Manage the commissioning interface with the Station Production team to ensure necessary isolations are in place or removed to undertake commissioning activity
- Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders including the contractor and their commissioning team
- Oversee the rectification of issues during the commissioning activity
Who we’re looking for
To be successful in this role you’ll need to have a degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work related experience. Extensive, relevant commissioning experience within the Engineering/Construction industry and a proven track record of leading and managing large complex project programs. On site construction experience would be very advantageous.
