Drax Altus is supporting a confidential mandate to appoint an Investment Director to a long-established private equity investor focused on buyouts in the European mid‐market. The firm has a strong track record of investing in consumer and services sectors, with a focus on operational value creation. The incoming Director will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and leading transactions, while also contributing to portfolio strategy, team development, and future fund growth. THE ROLE
- Deal Origination & Execution
- Lead or co‐lead the origination, evaluation, and execution of new investment opportunities.
- Manage full deal lifecycle: commercial due diligence, financial modelling, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, advisers, and deal intermediaries.
- Serve as a board representative and strategic partner to management teams.
- Help drive post‐deal transformation, including operational improvement, M&A, and leadership development.
- Support exit planning and execution, with a focus on delivering strong returns.
- Contribute to internal investment committee discussions and firmwide knowledge sharing.
- Mentor junior team members and help embed a collaborative, performance‐driven culture.
- Represent the firm credibly in the investment community.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: 8–12 years in private equity or principal investing, with a focus on control buyouts or transformational investments.
- Execution Capability: Strong track record of leading complex transactions and managing multi‐stakeholder processes.
- Commercial Insight: Excellent judgement and pattern recognition across sectors such as business services, healthcare, or consumer.
- Boardroom Presence: Confidence and credibility engaging with C‐suite leaders and founders.
- Team Fit: Entrepreneurial, pragmatic, and collaborative – with a drive to build lasting value and relationships.
