In this role, you’ll manage, analyse, and report on environmental and packaging data across all product lines, ensuring compliance with UK, Irish, and global legislation. You’ll also support packaging reduction initiatives and help maintain accurate data to deliver our sustainability goals. About the Role Working as our Sustainable Packaging Assistant your role will include:
- Updating and maintaining database records for packaging types, materials, weights, and recycled content across all existing and new product ranges.
- Monitoring and maintaining compliance data for UK Packaging Legislations, WEEE, Battery reporting (UK & Ireland), and global supplier Sedex environmental audits.
- Analysing data to identify non-compliant or high-impact problem lines.
- Supporting Buying Category Managers and sales teams to drive supplier-level packaging reductions.
- Creating and tracking KPIs for packaging reduction, waste, recycling, and utilities in alignment with ISO 14001 standards.
- Sourcing and maintaining embodied emission data required for UK CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) reporting.
- Coordinating with the design studio on OPRL (On-Pack Recycling Label) artwork requirements and maintain the FSC database for certified products.
Requirements
- Understanding of UK/EU environmental packaging legislations and FSC certification would be desirable.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A well-organised approach with the ability to plan and deliver, with use of excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint/SharePoint, Power BI and I-Series essential.
- Knowledge of packaging and design would be desirable but not essential.
- Hands on approach to tasks and able to work in a team as well as using own initiative essential.
