Analyst Programmer (IBMi/iSeries RPG)

Job Description

Working as our Analyst Programmer, your role will include:

• Developing, maintaining, and upgrading existing IBM iSeries systems to support the current and future growth of the business.
• Working with business users to understand and gather requirements to enable the design of new systems and make enhancements to existing applications.
• Providing support for the existing systems, including troubleshooting technical issues and identifying any modifications needed.
• Developing systems to adhere to the defined Draper standards.
• Producing technical documentation of development work, including user guides where appropriate.
• Ensuring all development work is fully tested with documented evidence.
• Providing user training for new or changed system functionality.

Key Technical Skills:

• RPG – free format and fixed format
• Modular programming / Service programs
• CL programming
• SQL Techniques (embedded, interactive, database definition)
• Requirements gathering
• Systems analysis
• Systems / application design
• Database design
• Integrating with Web Services
• JSON / XML / REST

Desirable Technical Knowledge / Experience:

• Experience of RDi
• EDI
• XSL
• Websmart
