The Configuration Analyst assists senior level configuration analysts in managing and controlling configuration items (CI's), ensuring the integrity and traceability of product configurations throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of CM processes and procedures in alignment with industry standards and company requirements.
  • Participate in both configuration control board (CCB) and Design Review Board (DRB) meetings and provide configuration management input as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and program management, to ensure CM processes support and align with program requirements.
  • Assist in generation and distribution of CM reports and metrics providing visibility into the configuration status of changes objects.
  • Support Senior CM team member with the preparation and execution of configuration audits and reviews.
  • Assist in the resolution of configuration related issues and discrepancies.
  • Assist with the release process to ensure accuracy and completeness of change objects.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly deliveries of revised work products.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommended solutions.

Skills/Abilities

  • Basic understanding of CM principles, practices, and standards.
  • Familiarity with military/commercial CM and documentation-related specifications and standards (such as ANSI/EIA-649, ASME/Y14, MIL-STD-31000, MIL-STD-961, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as PLM databases.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate clearly.

Education

Requires a minimum of an associate degree in engineering or related field; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Equivalent work experience in Configuration Management, or a related field may be considered.

Experience

3 to 5 years of experience in Configuration Management or related discipline is required.
